WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR - TOWNSVILLE

Dawsons engineering is a lead engineering provider focused on steel fabrication, industrial piping,
project management and mining support with our clients predominately from the mining, heavy
industry, sugar, government and commercial sectors. Locally owned and operated for 37 years,

About the Role:

  • Uphold standards to ensure compliance with companies Policies/Procedures, Australian
    Standards, Acts and Regulations, and client requirements
  • Ensuring safety excellence and maintaining the highest standards of quality control across all
    operations
  • Lead a positive workplace culture
  • Management of project spend for each assigned project or sub-project
  • Plan jobs so optimise the builds and work flow
  •  Create and implement ITPs, Fabrication Traceability Sheets and compile MDRs with the
    support of the Quality Coordinator
  • Checking of jobs
  • Mentor and motivate to ensure effective and efficient supervision and delegation of staff
    while ensuring work is carried out to relevant standards
  • Ensure regular project management review, inspection and liaison with the client is
    maintained
  • Monitor job profitability and implement process improvements
  • Support staff management and ensure compliance within industry standards

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • An individual who has a passion for doing it right
  • Trade Certificate with a minimum of 5-8 years’ workshop experience with leading hand experience
  • Strong Analytical and organisational skills
  • Drive to keep the high standards of our business
  • Exceptional skills in Drawing Interpretation, Steel fabrication, structural, piping and platework
  • Well-developed knowledge of quality control and safety standards
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge about ISO 9001, AS 5131, AS 1554.1-6 & AS3992
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge to use computer applications including Microsoft Word, and Excel
