
LABOUR HIRE COORDINATOR - CAIRNS
Dawsons Engineering is seeking a Labour Hire Coordinator/ Recruiter to join our busy Cairns office supporting mining, heavy engineering and industrial clients across Queensland and interstate. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems and keeping operations running smoothly. No two days are the same — you may be onboarding candidates in the morning, coordinating site requirements at midday and assisting with urgent client requests in the afternoon.
ABOUT THE ROLE
• Coordinate staffing placements for mining and industrial clients
• Manage candidate onboarding including tickets, licences and compliance
• Liaise with clients regarding staffing requirements and breakdown coverage
• Conduct reference checks, police checks and system entries
• Support walk-in candidates and general recruitment enquiries
• Maintain accurate records across recruitment and onboarding systems
• Work closely with the Cairns team to ensure smooth daily operations

• Organised and able to manage multiple priorities
• Confident speaking with candidates face-to-face and on the phone
• Friendly, professional and approachable
• Able to work calmly in a busy operational environment
• Strong attention to detail with compliance and documentation
• Previous recruitment, administration or Labour hire experience preferred but not essential
